About our founder
Women Ascend - Because even powerful women need a place to rise.
I’ve spent the last 15 years in positions of power — leading large teams, building businesses from the ground up, and raising a family. People looked up to me as a strong leader, a woman who had it all together.
But behind the scenes, my reality was very different. I was married to a narcissistic gaslighter who gradually stripped away my confidence and sense of self. At work, I was screamed at in front of my own team — one moment praised as “the most intelligent woman he’d ever met,” the next told I was useless. At home, I endured days of silence if things weren’t done exactly his way.
I did everything I could to keep the peace for the sake of my children, but inside I was dying a little more each day. In the end, I was pushed out of the business due to his infidelity, left with a mortgage, debts in my name, and the responsibility of raising two incredible children on my own.
I look back now and think: WTF. But here I stand today — stronger, wiser, and more powerful than ever.
When I needed help, I couldn’t find it. The advice out there didn’t fit my reality. I wasn’t a “victim” with nowhere to turn — I was a COO in a man’s world, and any sign of weakness put my career and reputation at risk. What I needed was a safe, private space to speak to someone who had walked this path too. That space didn’t exist.
So I built it.
